With the success of the 1991 film, The Addams Family animated series began airing on Saturday mornings in 1992. Since this series was made for kids, much of the Addams Family's antics were toned-down. Gomez didn't smoke cigars or make sexual references to his wife, and Uncle Fester didn't "blow himself up".
Based on the 80's movie of the same name, the series follows goth girl, Lydia, along with her Neitherworld friend, Beetlejuice. It was developed by the original film's director, Tim Burton. A follow-up to "The Real Ghostbusters", this series takes place years later after the Ghostbusters go out-of-business due to a lack of supernatural activity.
